Royal biographer's killers sentenced
LONDON (P-London subway guard James O'Brien was sentenced to 17 years in jail Thursday for the slaying of royal biographer James Pope-Hennessy. Two accomplices were jailed for 15 years each.
Pope-Hennessy, 57, died after the three men attacked and robbed him in his London apartment.
Prosecutor John Mathew said O'Brien previously had stayed at the apartment with Pope-Hennessy and there undoubtedly had been a homosexual relationship.
Pope-Hennessy
was
known for his biography of Queen Elizabeth II's grandmother, Queen Mary. The monarch made him a Companion of the Victorian Order for the work.
